3 Brothers Plumbing and Heating started in 2000 when brothers Dominic and Weston Barnes launched from Wes' garage in Helena. Sons of Thomas Barnes — a Korean War Navy electrician — they grew up learning the trades alongside their father in his plumbing and electrical service company in Texas.
After relocating to Montana in 1994 and training with established contractors like Pallister Plumbing and Central Plumbing, they joined Butte Local 41 union in 1996 before going independent in 2006. The company is named for the Three Brothers Mountains near Jefferson City.
In January 2025, Dominic and Weston passed the torch to a new generation of native Montanans committed to the same values of honest work, fair pricing, and community service.
